Mr Miyagi
Mr Miyagi is one of Chapel street’s most recognisable restaurants.
Drawing on inspiration from 1980’s classic film, The Karate Kid, Mr Miyagi’s design mixes traditional minimalist Japanese elements with contemporary ones – like neon signs and graffiti – to provide an inviting and exciting atmosphere.
We had a lot of fun with this one, scattering words of wisdom from ‘Mr M’ himself throughout the venue’s interiors. “Food baby cheaper than real baby” is a personal favourite of the team.
The polished concrete floors, exposed brick and timber furniture work together to weave new with old – perfectly balancing nostalgia with today’s Melbourne dining expectations.
