Bob Sugar

Opened in Torquay late 2020, Bob Sugar takes cues from the film Jerry Maguire. With a richly textured interior that references the 90’s era and a restaurant concept of ‘Your likeable douchebag’, we knew we’d have fun working on this one.

We designed the beachfront space to transition from day to night through neutral textured paint finishes on walls, the use of timbers and rattan throughout, and playing with striking green marble at the bar.

As the sun sets, the interiors create a warm ambience with soft wall lighting that sets the mood. A banquette that wraps into booths envelopes the dining area, centered around a green marble hearth and fireplace perfect for a winters day by the sea.

The witty overlay of the branding, by Alter studio, paired with colourful cocktails and dishes, adds to the vibrancy and fun that is sure to be had thanks to Bob!
