Basque restaurants are traditionally quite masculine and monochromatic, but The Lana wanted this space to be more feminine. Basque culture only celebrates female Godesses, and our concept was formed around Mari – Queen of Nature. Mari moved from mountain to mountain on the back of a fire breathing dragon. Through the fire of basque cooking, the materials, furniture and lighting – the interior at Jara, personifies Mari.
